Wiki: Java Script The Smart Way

That is the advantage of a database driven system. The entries could have been assigned unique ID numbers that have absolutely nothing to do with date order at all. Then just sort the entries by their Date value. Links created based on the PID value in the URL would still work regardless of its order in the database. Our store system can have any page deep linked. The user can move the entry anywhere in the site and it will still show up at the other end of any links that reference it. IF you have permission to view it and the site owner hasn't destroyed the article. Alternatively, you could have used a lookup table to track the new offset of each entry. You'd have to move to a completely different ID tracking scheme though.
